Plans, Develops, and maintains all network operations including administration of routers, firewalls, network switches and servers. Ensures network availability, security and performance. Develops and oversees maintenance of company applications. Manages daily activities of information technology staff. Coordinates information technology projects handled by external vendors. Develops information technology budget objectives, controls, policies and procedures. 


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Plans, develops and manages all network operations including administration of routers, firewalls, networks switches and servers. Ensures network availability, recovery, back up processes, security and performance. 
  2. Develops and oversees maintenance of company applications. Provides application support as needed. 
  3. Manages daily activities of information technology staff by assigning work, checking quality of work, answering questions, handling personnel issues, and monitoring projects to ensure jobs are completed in at timely and accurate manner. Provides technical support to staff members as needed. 
  4. Identifies employee training needs and provides training as needed. 
  5. Coordinates information technology projects handled by external vendors and oversees project progress. 
  6. Develops information technology budget objectives and controls. Orders materials and equipment for information technology operations as appropriate. 
  7.  Develops and implements information technology policies, procedures and disaster recovery processes.
  8. Maintains current industry knowledge, researches and evaluates new products and technologies and makes recommendations for purchase and installation.
  9. Performs all other related duties as assigned by management. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1.  Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and peripheral equipment.
  2.  Knowledge of network security and maintenance. 
  3.  Knowledge of management principles and practices. 
  4. Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3. 
  5. Knowledge of telecommunications billing, customer service and plant functions. 
  6. Skill in operating office equipment. 
  7. Skill in problem solving and resolution.
  8. Skill in oral and written communication.
  9. Ability to communicate with customers, employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. 
  10. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments. 
  11. Ability to pay close attention to detail. 
  12. Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand. 
  13. Ability to create a team environment and sustain employee morale.

Seeing: Must be able to read computer screen and various reports 75-100%

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and industry contacts. 75-100%

Standing/Walking: 0-24%

Climbing/Stooping/kneeling: 0-24%

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0-24%

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use phone system 75-100%


Working Conditions

Good working conditions with the absence of disagreeable conditions. Employee must be able to be on a call.
